Scan to BIM / Point Cloud to BIM Services
Raw scan data is only as useful as the model it becomes. At CAD Drafter, we convert laser-scanned point clouds from FARO, Leica, Trimble, and Matterport into precise, intelligence-rich Revit BIM models.
Fix The Problem With CAD Drafter!
No accurate as-built data means your design team is working from assumptions. Our laser scan to BIM services eliminate this entirely to prevent clashes.
New MEP systems routed through a space without a precise record of what’s already there can cause a disaster. Our Point cloud to BIM modeling surfaces these conflicts in the model.
Building operators trying to manage assets without current BIM documentation are guessing. COBie-ready, as-built BIM models are FM teams’ best bet!
Our Sub-Services
Scan to BIM is a family of discipline-specific processes, each with its own modeling logic, level-of-detail requirements, and downstream use case. CAD Drafter covers all of them:
Get CAD Drafter’s structural scan to BIM services with dimensional tolerances that meet LOD 350 and LOD 400 requirements for fabrication support.
Our MEP scan to BIM service reconstructs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Outputs include Revit MEP models and isometric views.
Our industrial scan to BIM specialists have worked across oil and gas facilities, manufacturing plants, and data center infrastructure. Get insights on your project in a click!
Used extensively in adaptive reuse and design development for existing buildings. Deliverables include both native Revit models and 2D architectural drawings.
Our point cloud to CAD service takes your laser scan data and produces DWG/DXF files with proper layering, dimensioning, and annotation for use in AutoCAD.
Our as-built scan to BIM documentation captures real field conditions and turns them into LOD 400 or LOD 500 Revit models. Call us if your workflow connects with FARO and Leica.

Get Started Now!
Unlike other Virtual Design and Construction companies, we do not charge at all for a BIM consultation session. Call us to get a one-on-one call with an expert.
Your data is important to us. That’s why we sign an NDA to preserve your privacy and protect sensitive spatial data, logistical bottlenecks and structural clearances.
Don’t hesitate to ask for changes when it comes to CAD Drafter. We provide free revisions by rerouting systems and adjusting spatial constraints.
Our Process
Consistency comes from process. Here’s exactly how we take a project from initial brief to a fully coordinated, deliverable-ready BIM model:
What LOD levels do your BIM modeling services cover?
We model across the full LOD spectrum, from LOD 100 (conceptual massing) through LOD 500 (as-built, construction-verified documentation). The appropriate LOD is agreed upon during scoping based on the project phase and downstream use of the model.
What is the difference between BIM and VDC in construction?
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the creation and management of digital representations of a building’s physical and functional characteristics. Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is a broader workflow that uses BIM models alongside lean construction planning, 4D scheduling, 5D cost modeling, and collaborative coordination to manage the entire project delivery process.
How much do BIM modeling services cost?
Pricing depends on project scope, discipline count, LOD level, and required deliverables. CAD Drafter offers competitive, transparent project-based pricing. We provide a detailed quote after a brief discovery call.
What software does your VDC team use?
Our core platform is Autodesk Revit for BIM modeling, with Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination, Synchro Pro or Primavera P6 for 4D scheduling, and CostX or Autodesk Quantity Takeoff for 5D cost estimation. We also work in ArchiCAD, Tekla, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, depending on project requirements.
Is my project data secure when outsourcing BIM?
Project security is non-negotiable. Before any file transfer, we sign a mutual NDA. All project data is transferred via encrypted, access-controlled platforms (Autodesk ACC / BIM 360 or client-specified systems).
